FUTURE-PROOFING THE GUARDIAN’S PODCAST FAMILY
The Guardian’s podcast branding hadn’t been updated in over a decade, despite podcasts becoming a key growth area. They needed a future-proof identity—visually and sonically.
Our concept centered on conversation—a back-and-forth within each episode and between the hosts and their audience. This idea shaped the look and feel of the new idents and the brief for a fresh sonic logo.
We worked closely with Chris Clarke (Deputy Head of Editorial Creative) and The Guardian’s podcast teams in the UK, Australia, and New York. The new designs launched in 2021, with the sonic logo following later that year.
